January 26, 2008 - The Illini welcomed back former players this past weekend with the annual alumni event, which included the Orange and Blue game. Players from the Illini's past suited up and showed off their skills, or at least what skills they used to have, playing for two 20 minute periods. Blue pulled ahead early, but Orange battled back and aquired Marshall Chubirka in some sort of undisclosed trade. The Blue team came back in the final minutes of the game, but a late empty net goal put the Orange team on top of the Blue, winning by a score of 7-5.
