December 14, 2007 - The University of Illinois received 45 of a possible 47 first-place votes and continued to hold the top spot in the sixth ranking of the regular season. The Fighting Illini will take their unblemished record and #1 ranking into the year 2008. Penn State received the other 2 first-place votes and held at #2, as did #3 Lindenwood, while Oklahoma bumped up into the #4 spot. The rankings highest mover was Liberty, which jumped up three spots to the #5 position. #13 West Virginia clinched the first spot in this years ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championships as Regular Season Champions of the College Hockey Mid-America (CHMA). Arizona hopped back into the rankings in the #25 position. The rankings have expanded this season to include the Top 25 teams, up from 20. The seventh ranking of the regular season will be released on Friday, January 18.
