Illini hold onto No. 1 spot
   
ACHA Ranking #3 released
   
November 2, 2007 - The University of Illinois received 49 of a possible 50 first-place votes and continued to hold the top spot in the third ranking of the regular season.  The Fighting Illini won three consecutive 1-goal games with Lindenwood, and remain unblemished at 9-0-0.  Rhode Island, also boasting an umtarnished record (10-0-0), edged by Penn State to take over the #2 spot.  The Rams received the other first-place vote, and will host Penn State next weeknd in a battle of #2 vs #3.  Ohio stood pat in the #4 spot, while Lindenwood moves up a spot and rounds out the top 5, setting up a #4 vs #5 showdown this weekend.  The rankings highest movers jumped up four spots each: Robert Morris (PA) from #20 to #16; and Eastern Michigan from #21 to #17.  Also gaining ground were the University of Delaware and Stony Brook.  Each were able to move up two spots in the ranking. The fourth ranking of the regular season will be released on Friday, November 16.
